This combination of Gas Assist + DRE-MAX allows for on-demand assist gas, rather than the traditional continuous flowrate of assist gas. The on-demand functionality only uses assist gas when needed and adjusts the flow to only use as much as needed for any specific flowrate. This proprietary functionality of Gas Assist + DRE-MAX significantly reduces the utility costs while also reducing emissions. This combination provides the most efficient and also the highest DRE performance, of any Gas Assist flare system in the industry.
Gas Assist flares can be employed at sites where steam may not be available, gas pressure is not high enough to utilize pressure assist, and power is not available to run a blower. Gas assisted flares are also used to enrich the waste gas in cases where the net heating value of the gas is not enough to guarantee stable combustion. In this case the assist gas can either be injected at the flare header or into the flame zone via the assist gas nozzles.
Gas assist flare tips combine assist gas with the waste gas stream at the flare tip exit to deliver smokeless combustion over a full range of flow conditions. The assist gas is flowing at sonic velocity through the assist gas nozzles and the momentum helps inspirate ambient air to ensure complete combustion.
DRE-MAX® Advanced Assist Gas Controls & Energy Efficiency
Automated Assist Gas Control: DRE-MAX is the answer for operators who have a gas assisted flare. Traditional gas assist flare systems require a steady flowrate of assist gas to the flare system 24 hours a day. The assist gas does not vary as the waste gas flow rate varies, wasting assist gas when not needed and significantly increasing utility costs. DRE-MAX ensures that the optimized amount of assist gas flow is always automatically sent to flare by modulating the assist gas as-needed, to ensure the highest destruction efficiency and stay in compliance.
Decrease the total amount of emissions by half: Because DRE-MAX modulates the assist gas flow as the waste gas flow varies, it decreases flare emissions by at least 50% compared to traditional assist gas flares. As a result, gas-assisted flare with DRE-Max can significantly reduce gas consumption and reduce emissions at the same time.
