Quad O Combustors

With the rapid growth of oil and gas production in the North American shale plays and other areas, Cimarron has answered the call with a series of OOOOb/c certified or compliant standard Smart Combustors that deliver the high performance and rapid delivery you need at very economical price points.

All our standard Smart Enclosed Combustors come with the integrated continuous monitoring OPTI LINK® module and the ARC burner management system, ensuring compliance with the new OOOOb/c regulations. They are easy to install and require little ongoing maintenance.

In addition, Cimarron’s EPA certified combustor models have been demonstrated to have >99% destruction efficiency based on NSPS OOOOa/b/c performance testing, in a controlled environment. This is why we are guaranteeing 98% in any well site environment when used within their recommended range.

  • Advantages

    • Cimarron offers 10 EPA-certified smart Enclosed Combustors (ECDs) and 4 non-certified ultra high volume ECDs, each designed for specific use cases, providing clients with a range of options to suit their gas volumes and requirements.
    • The Cimarron Smart Combustor is a standalone system that can eliminate fugitive emissions while continuously monitoring its performance.
    • Cimarron guarantees a 98% Destruction and Removal Efficiency (DRE) for all our smart ECDs when operated within their specified design parameters. This surpasses the 95% EPA requirement.
    • The Cimarron Smart Combustor is equipped with continuous pilot with pilot auto-reignition (BMS).
    • The Cimarron Smart Combustor uses continuous pilot flame sensing with digital records saved every 5 minutes or less.
    • The Cimarron Smart Combustor is equipped with a stack thermocouple and it monitors the stack temperature.
    • The Cimarron Smart Combustor can monitor and send alerts to company control room and/or to the cloud for performance monitoring with actionable intelligence.
    • The Cimarron Smart Combustor is flowmeter ready. An inlet gas flowmeter can be installed, and flow rates monitored and recorded through the Smart Combustor. Alerts can be sent for out-of-range flow rates.
    • All monitored data can be saved on secured Cimarron data cloud storage solution (redundant data storage).
    • Performance guarantee requires Preventive Maintenance (PM monthly or quarterly).
  • Applications

    A combustor design that can be used both in upstream and midstream Oil & Gas applications:

    • Cimarron has the largest install-based ECDs in the US, with systems operational across all major basins. Our combustors can be found at thousands of upstream facilities and midstream compressor stations, ensuring that oil and gas are reliably produced with minimal amount of emissions.
    • The EPA has recently upgraded the certification for all 10 Cimarron smart ECDs as of April 2024, now meeting the standards of 40 CFR Part 60, subparts OOOO, OOOOa, OOOOb and OOOOc, as well as 40 Part 63, subparts HH and HHH.
    • Additionally, The EPA has revised their list of certified ECDs to include minimum and maximum flow rates, which streamlines the permitting process.
    • The Cimarron’s smart ECDs can also be enhanced with assist-gas and temperature control to function as a cost-effective thermal-oxidizer, ideal for applications with low Net Heating Value or minimal flow requirements, such as BTEX emissions or truck loading or other midstream applications.

    The Legacy Abutec design

    The AB enclosed combustors are an excellent solution for applications that require ease of transportation, and a small footprint. These combustors have low pressure drop burners, are made entirely of stainless steel, are not insulated and do not have flame cells. Because of this, customers should control the access and delicate equipment near the units due to the radiating heat while in operation. They come with integrated continuous monitoring.

    The Legacy CH design

    The CH units are also are an excellent solution for applications that require ease of transportation and a small footprint. These combustors have low pressure drop burners and are internally insulated with ceramic, which makes them a better choice when temperature is high and varies widely. However these units do not have any flame cells and customers should control the access to the equipment when in operation. They come with integrated continuous monitoring.

    The CIMARRON design

    The Cimarron enclosed combustors have the best turndown ratio on the market because of their special multijets burner design which also provides better smokeless performance. The larger units are insulated with fiberglass, with little heat radiating from them. These units are very versatile and can be upgraded to be temperature controlled with gas-assist (truck loading, BTEX, low vapors applications). The Ultra High Volume units are not EPA certified due to their size, but have been field tested to be well above 98% DRE. They come with integrated continuous monitoring.
